Acetone jar/container for SCT wheels
Hi all,
I'm struggling to find a jar/container large enough to remove SCT tyres. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks David |
Ive always used these, but a 5ltr for 10th wheels
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10L-Food-G...MAAOSw8gVX6vLY And they are airtight |
I used a sandwich/kitchen container with a rubber seal around it for my 1/8th tyres.

25 litre fermentation bucket from Wilko's. Cut a circle of wire mesh slightly smaller than the circumference of the bucket, and make some 2 inch long legs for this to stand on to keep the wheels and tyres out of the acetone.
Room for 1 set of wheels, or 10 - up to you. Just needs a small amount of lab grade acetone (from Ebay) in the bottom, leave the wheels and tyres in the acetone vapour for 72 hours and they all come off with no struggle. Wire brush the old dried superglue off the rims once dry and hey presto. |
