Just wondering as had a sc lying around for a while and a few of us are getting them up together what turn motor is the norm for 2wd thanks

Frecklychimp 09-12-2012 07:10 PM

Depends on what truck you are running... some don't handle a lot of power well.

I ran a 8.5T LRP X12 with mild boost this year in XXX-SCT... any more and the ball diff slipped on high grip tracks.

Think you'll find most of the top national guys are running similar winds.

will be trying hotter motors in the 22-SCT as it will take more power and being mid motored it could do with some more torque out of slower corners

Thanks mate sorry to hi jack the tread I have a ft ae sc10 have a 6.5 in with no boost just a gen 2 esc I have a 7.5 so might throw that in thanks again for your help

8.5 is a good all round motor , I was running a 7.5 in the nationals this year and I've gone 10.5 for the winter just to handle the wet when slippery astro turf.

Mines a durango desc410r v2 with a lpr 4.5 550 size motor with a 13 tooth mod 1 pinion with no boost not rapid but the 550 makes it have proper brakes that the 540 motors just dont have i had a novak 7.5 540 motor in with full boost just as quick but the brakes were crap

2wd Corr is the most popular in my area.

Kids even do the class here. One of the fastest racers here is 12 years old.:p
I drive an SC10 non-factory team and factory team(Mod).

Cool video!

Nice to see kids driving so well, and one of them is driving a Traxxas Slash competitively as well. With the stock high centre of gravity chassis and all on carpet! (you can see it when it hits the marshal and rolls over) I'm impressed
