Guys, this is a Kyosho Optima with belt drive. Is the belt drive a conversion? And what more could be told about this? -year -exact model (apart from the fact that it has a JG Truck Conversion Kit) Cheers :D |
Could be a Turbo Optima from 1986. Does it have an aluminum undertray?
The belt was an Option House conversion kit. Nice JG truck conversion! |

Thx! :D
Here's a pic of the underside: http://www.oople.com/forums/attachme...8&d=1365583019 Very interesting btw that "JG" name! It stands for John Gudvangen, which does sound VERY norwegian! Sounds like a character from the movie Flaaklypa Grand Prix  I think I found the american on Facebook, but never got a reply from him. Just wanted to know if his ancestors came from Norway... |
Okay, no Turbo then as it does not have the undertray nor swaybars. Also seem to have front arms for the first Optima.
Then it boils down to: Kyosho Optima Artnr: #3032 Year 1985? Belt conversion kit (Option House) Truck conversion kit (John Gudvangen, JG) Gold shocks upgrade (Option House) |
Here is a pic of the JG conversion kit. Your wheels might be dyed baby blue at some point?

Wow! You have a NIB kit? |

Have to get one of these in the future. Or the version for Optima Mid. |
|
Jeeezez! I only got USD 80 for it! :wtf:
What's happened to the vintage market? Totally down the drain or what? Plus a NIB Tomo Lupus for USD 200... |
I wonder if Varg Vikernes put in a bid?
|

I was insterested, just forgot to bid, crap !!!!!! |
I'd have given you more than $80!!
|
Your postal costs would have put me off - that put the total up to $150! (About £100/110euro)
I think the truck conversion, although unusual, has limited appeal, most people looking at it would probably be considering how much it would cost to convert back into a buggy:( Nice truck though:thumbsup: |
The shipping cost is normal for us who live in Norway or Sweden but we are "struggling" with strong currencies, NOK/SEK in comparison to USD/EUR/GBP so exporting is not a great option for business.
It's golden times for importing though  |
Thx guys!
Varg Vikernes... good one mate! Not to be messed with... And yes, I must admit it's not the most beautiful car... to be honest quite butt ugly, that's why I sold it :D Might have been better to split it and sell the chassis and truck kit separateley actually... I think you're right that most people want the real classics. And the biggest interest seems to be for Tamiya cars. Costs... sad, but true. This is the actual cost, I've even ended up having to pay even more than estimated. It really is a joke how cheap shipping is from some countries in comparison! Even within Norway it's so expensive to ship, it may often cost more to send the item than what the item itself is worth  |
