Hi, silly question I expect, are the NEAM and Teesside ones indoors at the normal venues or is an outdoor track setup? :)

Shame Scottish on road have clashed with the early July meeting

What are the control tyres? Have searched but can't find anything.

Darts, spikes and BB's. anything you want on the front.

dlr 26-03-2019 08:34 AM

hah, coming from onroad, control tyre there means one and only one type of tyre!

Presume if dry darts, bit soft spikes, not sure what the BB's are? Any suggestions for 4wd fronts? I plan to do Nissan and Teesside but never raced on grass but I don't want to have to buy 40 tyres :)

You don't punch holes in the tyres do you at the end of the event like I heard they did at some last year?

Yorkiebar 26-03-2019 12:47 PM

BB - Ballistic Buggy. Normally run rear spikes in green compound for wet, BBT01.

4WD fronts - darts or wide cut stagger dry, BB green BBT03 or silver darts wet.

You might have to trim the dart fronts to prevent grip roll.

Thanks Yorkiebar. Will hopefully be able to buy on the day and glue up so I don't end up with ones I don't need. :)

Control tyres - because the tracks we race on have different tyre requirements, and we need to offer wet options, one tyre choice will not do for all, hence we over plenty of choice, within the three tyres available, Darts, Minespikes and Ballistic buggy spikes.

Darts for Astro tracks, Mini spikes for grass tracks and Ballistic buggy green spikes are a wet option.

I think TQ models or Moss models will be at our regionals, so yes, you can buy the right tyre for the track on the day.

neallewis 29-03-2019 11:58 AM

We will also run a 2wd stadium trucks heat on the 4wd day of regionals. This is a non-BRCA qualifying class, but we've had requests to run them, and it will prove a fun spectacle for all to watch and enjoy.
