Looking for active and 'busy' clubs

Hi all!
I am getting back into racing after a 20 year break and am looking for some good clubs to race at in Nottingham.
I intend on getting a 1/10th 2wd electric (possibly a Losi 22) and enjoy racing for competition at a club level. Used to race a Bury all those years ago and had 2-4wd finals from A-D every Sunday. I realize that clubs are not that busy any more so would like to find something that has more than just 1 or 2 heats that race 3 times before a final (if thats still possible!) and meet more than once a month.
I have been looking at the places that run the Nationals in the area and am also looking at anything 50 mins away in a car in Derby or Lincoln. I have seen some very professional looking tracks and some that seem to be run on half a playground! I prefer custom tracks really as they are much more fun to race on and with the summer arriving, outdoor season is upon us!
If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. My search of Google is now bringing up the same places and I also seem to remember finding a club that has just built a custom outdoor track not too far away but for the life of me I can't remember its name!
Cheers for any help!

Broxtowe is good, near juction 26 of the M1. they race friday nights through the summer on a fantastic brand new astroturf track. there were 55 racers there last week!

I race on a wednesday night at Mansfield (just in the process of attracting new members)

Also Robin Hood raceway is excellent and that's up at Blythe, north of Worksop. They also race on a Wednesday evening in summer

Robin Hood does look amazing but Wednesday nights only are almost impossible to get to if you have a job as they want you to book in a 5. Maybe I can find a work-around for that??
Going to visit Broxtowe this Friday and see what it's like.
Where is the one in Mannsfield?

Thanks for the info, I can't wait to race again. Already have bought a 20 year-old Futaba Attack-R tranny!!

definitely recommend Broxtowe's outdoor track on a friday night

There is also West Bridgeford whom race buggies on grass near Bingham on a friday night... will be trying them this week.

A1 Racing Club near Grantham race on a tuesday evening on a brand new outdoor astroturf track.. its a bit of a trek from Derby but i do it every week as i'm one of the organisers and built the 1/10th track so depends how keen you are!

The Mansfield club is on Botany Avenue, which is 2 mins from town centre. We race off road (with ramps etc), mini, touring car and short course on a Wed night (doors open 6 but get there by 7 is no problem) We are in the process of advertising to get more racers involved but it's good fun with a relaxed atmosphere.

Feel free to PM me to get more details :-)
