Supplied with Kit ?

Hi, I am about to purchase a Cougar KF2 SE, what would I need to assemble it apart from the obvious nut drivers, and allen drivers. Is any shock oil, grease, diff oil supplied? I really want to get everything (including any upgrades ?) tomorrow so I can spend the next week building it and start to learn everything Thanks MC

Hi,
I've bought two KF2SE kits to run this year, last two years I've run the KF

The kit is supplied with grease, locktight and oils to get you going, but most run different oils etc to suit the track conditions

The shock oil that's supplied is 35wt
The diff oil that's supplied is 12500cst
Moly Grease is also in the kit.

I run CoreRC Oil's, for the front shocks between 500-600cst, the rear's between 350-450cst ( so would advise getting some oils if you intend racing )

In the Diff I run between 5000 to 20000cst oil depending on condition's

Now upgrades, the only real upgrade needed ( I believe to start with ) are the 5° Front Alloy Caster Blocks and the Alloy Rear Gearbox Uppers to allow you to run the rear shocks on the rear of the car. The other upgrades are for choice and bling

Have a great time building the kit and racing it, Schumacher make great cars, customer service is second to none..

Enjoy

Supplied with Kit

Thank you for your reply.

I will need to order more oil for the shocks have only gone to 400.

Am going to be racing on med astro with concrete and tarmac areas with a few big jumps.

Is it worth getting the rear anti roll bar kit.

Also what would I need to fit slim shorty Intellect 3500 cells ?

Thanks

MC

Only run with Orion Shorty 4500 packs, full height cells
Will be trying the slims next weekend

mattcaney 25-03-2016 12:22 PM

I wanted to get Orion Cells, but have no chance of getting any before tomorrow. I think IP 3500 Slims cells should be great, just have to pad them out somehow.

What surfaces are you running on to use that much heavy oil ? Are you using the 3 hole pistons. This is another thing. I really want to get all the tuning options before I build the car. Thanks MC

Just a bit of warning. The locktight that come in the kit. If its red don't use it. It is permanent, meaning if you put it on any screws you will not be able to get them out. If I was you get some blue locktight, This is not as strong as the red but still holds the scews in place, and allows you to get the screws out again if need be.

I don't know many/any people that run the slim lipos you might want to make or buy so under lipo wieghts alot of people run wieght in the kf2 also not essential i'd buy a 76t spur gear most people run these

Thanks Paul, Was going for the Slim as thats what my model store has in stock, and need to make a decision on which cells to use 4mm or 5mm as do not want to keep resoldering wires. I am hoping the shorty cells fit all the motor configs on the KF2 SE. Is there anything you can suggest I add to my list before flexing my plastic card. Anything just want to be fully prepared and spares wise too.

You building straight into MM or Low Grip?

mattcaney 25-03-2016 03:22 PM

I am thinking of going low grip.

mattcaney 25-03-2016 04:11 PM

50 mins to go

I have 50 mins to go to place my order. Any suggestions - Anything ?

paulc 25-03-2016 04:16 PM

You can get an adapter i think for 5mm to 4mm not sure what brand it is but think you can get one so no need to be resoldering as for the kit as someone else mentioned rear transmission housing so the shocks can be mounted on the rear and alloy 5 degree front blocks and core spring sets is what i've bought for mine witch i hope to be building sometime this weekend

Building KF" SE

I shall be building mine tomorrow afternoon after collecting it and the rest of the parts, have got the alloy trans, and 5 deg Alloy Hubs.

Just not to sure on the reversing wishbones thing, do I just swap the fronts left to right or do they need the med flex options.

Thanks Matt

paulc 25-03-2016 04:50 PM

You don't need to reverse the wishbones you'll see when you get the instructions all explained in them and just use the kit wishbones
