B6.1 setup for Boughton

Hi there

I have not run a 2wd at Boughton but remember it from 4wd that it was quite low grip. Are there any good starting points for a B6.1. Layback gearbox rather than laydown with a ball diff?

I downloaded one from petitrc by Niel Cragg but haven't tried it out yet. Boughton is only used a couple of times a year so it can vary quite lot.

Hmmm, couldn't find that one. Had a look but only found the B6 sheet, which did not have the Layback option. Oh well just have to have a play on the day.

If it's likely to be a bit slippy I would start with lay back and ball diff, you can change the diff quickly and have room to move the battery about.

I was having this same conversation today. Not sure laydown or layback, flat or gul arms. One thing this year is the reg I'll be doing there is the week after the nat so hoping they have cleaned the track up a bit.

Sorry just double checked and you are correct it's for the b6 not 6.1. It uses the laydown so I think I thought it would close enough to get me in the ballpark. I also used it for my first grass race and it went very well.

Thanks chaps. Will start with the layback and ball diff and Craggs B6 settings and see where we end up. Could enter the Nat to practice for the Regional LOL

Just to throw a spanner in the works. I was up at Boughton the other evening with my B6.1, running laydown gearbox, gear diff and Ballistic white tyres and it was pretty spot on.
