Difference between models of PT

I've seen some MRT one's and some AMB one's, what is the difference practically (if anything!?), are there any types that aren't compatible with some systems, or any other issues to beware of?

Has anyone used the MRT PTX successfully, as its all I can find?

Well there are two main types of AMB systems. The old school AMB20 analogue system will only work with hand out transponders, or one of these:

Where you pre-select your car number from 1-10.

Most system are the new AMBrc which is all digital. Here you can use the clubs handouts or a proper AMBrc Personal Transponder (http://www.bbksoftware.com/ - click AMBrc - Prices and buy). You can not use the old AMB20 stuff with this.

The MRT PTX (personal transponder) is only available as a clone of an existing AMB PT. The reason being, AMB have a database of the PTs they have sent out, and each one has a unique 7 digit identifier. MRT can not start assigning these, otherwise they might interfere with peoples PT's (improbable but not impossible). So take out of the equation any factors, you must have an AMB PT before you can get an MRT one.

If you already have an AMB, and want a clone for another car. Or would prefer the smaller size or more reliable (no signal loss under voltage drop) MRT PTX then that's where it comes in. Of course if you are worried about signal loss MRT do a "Bug Booster" to make sure you never loose a lap (http://www.team-mrt.com/mrtwebshop/e...252Findex.html) although with years of using my PT (AMB) in both Nitro and Electric I have never knowingly lost a lap.

I use an MRT PTX rather than the AMB red PT's and they are fine. They can clone an existing PT if you want a replacement or you can simply buy one from MRT (comes with 20 numbers on it and you can change to any of them, to avoid clashes)
