Hello all. New to the RC community.

Hi all.

Just to introduce myself. My name is Danny and I am from Mansfield Woodhouse. I am looking at buying an E firestorm flux but am unsure as to the best place to buy spares and upgrades in the Mansfield area? Also does anyone from the club have hands on experience that could give any advice?

Much appreciated.

Cheers.

Danny.

Hi Danny,

The best way of learning is to just come down to the club and chat and we’ll talk you through it all.

It’s difficult to know “where” and “what” to spend your money on when you’re staring out. I know I’ve made some mistakes that in hindsight I wouldn’t have make if I’d of asked first. Everyone at the club is friendly and we all like a good crack. Ask for Gareth, Bruce, Muzzie (me) or Adam and we can get you started.
Things to consider:
Car, Lipo’s, charger, radio gear, tools, transponder.
The closest shop to Mansfield is PBM racing 54 Valley Dr, Newthorpe, Nottingham NG16 2DT – if you want to buy something go in and chat to Andy he’s really helpful.
The E firestorm flux is a 2-wheel drive truck which is not best suited for racing inside. I would recommend getting a buggy if you want to race locally.

I would also recommend that unless you have deep pocket, buy second hand for your first car. Look on the for sale section of oople you can find some real bargains.

My tip would be find out what most people are running at the club and follow suit. This will help you to understand car setup and how to repair the cart when you inevitably break something. This can also help if you don’t carry many spares, as someone may have the part so you can continue racing.

The current Car trends at the moment:

Team C TM2 – V2
Xray XB2
Yokomo YZ2
Schumacher Cougar KF / KF2

All are good cars and there isn’t much between then, so the choice is yours.
