SB-V1 upgrades
Just bought a brand new boxed SB-V1 for a ridiculously cheap price and it went together like a dream. I am very happy with the quality of about 70% of the car, with the rest being ok/iffy.
The priority upgrades I can see (besides spare parts) are - motor mount shocks slipper clutch turnbuckles hub bearings sway bars possibly the carbon upper deck Is there anything else a "must upgrade"? Also, my Lipo's wont fit between the battery guards, is there a way to get it to fit? Its a couple of mm to long and wide. |
just ordered -
carbon decks alu motor mount spare shock towers spare wishbones slipper clutch set and spur gear sway bar rear 2 x hub bearings 1050 (no more stock) still need 4 x 1510 bearings, 2 x 1050 bearings, stp008 mount, st-t26 front sway bar and compatable shocks any ideas where I can get them? and anything else I may need? |
Have a look through DMS-Racing's Academy parts. If no joy, then go to Stormer Hobbies in the US.

I found the diff balls and plates to SUCK.
The steering needs some mods to have full throw, and the car needs to be wider in the front to turn better. |

Hello
What mods to the steering. I assume grind away gearbox sides to give a bit more movement. I'm using aluminium arms not the plastic kit ones, they look similar. Are there any setups posted anywhere? Keith |
i have one of these too, got plenty of spares,
with the diff plate issue, it is solved by installing the slipper clutch :) front toe plates seem really weak to me, those are the only part i've broken... although thoses are also the parts which seem impossible to find.... rather than a carbon upper deck it is easier to just mount two stock frp decks on top of eachother :) Their a good car, even if the gearing options are a little limited :) |

What parts do you need to fit a slipper, also does anyone have any diff parts to sell? diff gear and pinion.
