DEX410 Finishes 3rd at BRC

Some news from the BRC (British Regional Championships)

Team Durango driver Craig Collinson backed up his excellent day in 2wd with a mirrored result in 4wd driving the DEX410 for the very first time.

Craig had never driven the car before practice and his experience was made even harder by have radio glitches in practice and in round 1.

After changing to an unfamiliar handset for round 2, Craig still posted the 8th fastest time. With Craig's confidence in the car growing with each lap and changes in set-up, Craig posted the 5th fastest time in round 3. More set-up changes and confidence showed in the 4th fastest time in round 4.

These results placed him 6th on the grid for the A main.

Craig commmented on how easy the car was to drive and how he knew the could go faster and was just learning that he could push the car harder and harder without it biting back.

The main event was run over 3 legs, with Craig taking a 5th in leg 1. He then found the extra speed he was looking for to take a 2nd in leg 2. In leg 3, he didn't quite get the best of opening laps, but still managed to get into the groove and close down on the leading 3 to take 4th place.

With a 2nd and a 4th from legs 2 and 3 repectively, Craig took 3rd overall.

Well done fella:thumbsup:

Nice one Craig, the car looked really good. Have to say tho, the colour scheme was the greatest i have ever seen!! needed a yellow wing in my opinion:thumbsup::wub
I'm sure there are going to be some good results out of the car this coming season

I didn't get to see the car run other than in the 'A' Main. From what I can tell racing against it the car was as quick and nimble as any other 4wd on show yesterday.

Good skills Durango, should be fun competing against you guys next year

As for Griffs commment about the Yellow wing, I think the car would have looked ALOT better if it was all orange! :woot: :woot:

First of all id like to give a big thanks to Adam for been my pit man for the day . His knowlegde of the car and what needed to be done in terms of set ups to suit my driving style was much appreciated.

As for my first thoughts on the car, i couldnt beleive how responsive and how direct the car felt and how quickly the car changed direction without losing the rear end.

After making changes in set ups throughout the day ther car was getting faster and faster as my round scores proved. I still felt i was driving well within the cars capabilities and know that once ive had some more track time and weve had chance to play around with settings the car will be nothing less than awsome!

Another thing that impressed me was how easy the car is to work on and how much you can change to suit your driving style and track conditions. Think the idea of a geared diff is fantastic, i said to Adam i wanted a little more drive out of corners so he changed to a thicker oil in the rear diff which worked wonders.

Will be doing as much testing as possible this winter in preperation for next year, cant wait!!

Craig
