was actually meant in terms of construction/appearance due to the layout of the chassis/gearbox/diff configuarition being more like 1/8th scale cars than the 10th scale cars.

the losi is also related to the 810 buggy (few different bits, axles side pods bumpers to convert)

Layout is the only thing they have in common, stick a scrt or hobao next to losi 8ight and they look like they would break if you look at them wrong, the SCTE is the closest to 1/8 you will find and again the 810 is based on the Ten-T Truggy the same as the SCTE
