Offroad Clubs/Venues in the W. Mids

I'm hoping to get back into off racing (ideally 1/10th) after many years absence but, I'm having a little trouble finding any up to date info on available clubs / venues in the area. I live near Walsall and would be very grateful if someone could point me in the right direction of a local venue.

I have already had a look on the web but many of the web links for clubs listed in the area seem to be out of use. Kidderminster seemed like an obvious venue to try but their website is no longer available. Is this venue still in use?

Also, found a link to the Marston MMC which looks ideal but there's no info about meeting etc.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I think that would count as mid south region! Newbury isn't far from you and run a good club along with the CML race way.

Roonry, as has been said .... loads of places to race but very little club racing these days.

Coventry Model Car Club I think still hold regular meetings.

Coventry and Kidderminster share a winter series ..... Midland Astro Masters

PM Yardeee on here, he's the area rep and a really helpful guy!

Would Coventry suit you

Coventry run combined Nitro and Electric club/summer series meetings through the summer on Sundays. Also for the last 2 years have ran Thursday evening club meetings for electric which hopefully will be happening again.

I'm afraid I only have my old TC at the moment. Probably best for me to turn up to a meeting at Marston, introduce myself and see what you guys are running. It would be great if the buggy racing becomes more popular. Looking at getting a ZX 5 assuming I can find some regular racing. Thanks for you help

I'll try my best to get there this Friday but it depends on whether I can get a permission slip from the wench. Thanks for the invite and I'll see you up at the club soon

Hey Rooney..... Telford Hot Trax - We race indoors every Wednesday evening. As we race predominantly TC's in there the trak is flat. However there's a few of us got ZX-5's and we have some excellent racing. It's polished wood floor, but with Yellow mini spikes (don't get confused with pins) you'll generate plenty of grip. Great fun. We run a few events outside during the year too. See our website - it's not always up to date, but we try and put important info on there as and when. www.telfordhottrax.co.uk

Rooney ..... off road is the best it's been for a number of years now in the region!!!!

As for the ZX5 ..... PM me before you buy, I'll give you all the info as to what you need to get one going really well.

Hi Dazzler, thanks for you reply. A guy at Wheelspin models recommended the Hot Trax club, sounds good. Wednesday nights suit me pretty well. Roughly how many buggy guys do you get on an average club night?

Dazzler 03-02-2009 01:22 PM

It's three or four, as previous, it's mainly TC's and some Micro's. (We've been averaging 15 to 20 drivers of late) I've got buggy's and touring cars, and tend to race whatever I feel like :-) We're a friendly club, and have some good racing. Pop down wednesday around 8.00pm - see what you think. I've been toying with the idea of putting a couple of jumps in for buggy's - we'll have to see. I think Buggy's / open wheelers tend to be avoided as they are more prone to breakages but everybody likes to watch them.
