cutting liquid mask

got 2 coats on my 1/5th shell and about to put 2 more but i started thinking, do you cut out all the lines then paint each section or do you just cut after painting each one?

jsut worried incause i cut them all out in 1 go some paint might bleed into the pre cut lines etc

Cheers

i cut all the lines first makes it easier

you can do it either way, but I cut all and peal as I need.

I'm pretty new to this but when I cut out a recent shell I (accidently..!) tried both methods and found no adverse effects on the the bits I cut out in one go... the LM adhered very well and the thickness of the blade cut is darn small and there was no bleed whatsoever... consequently, I will be cutting out all in one go in future..!

Hope this helps..!?

As said, you can do either. Personally I cut the whole design out first.

well its done...came out ok, was maybe a bit adventorous for the first shell painted in 15+ years lol!

went for a jagged front end white fading to neon pink, and wanted a cf look rear end...well i came out pretty good but the liquid mask is naff. i used the parma stuff and i wanted a white border around the jagged bits, got the base on and the cf effect and went to peel the mask and bits came off ok and others did not :(

had to cut a little deeper to get them to part and that led to bleed through from other coats, also managed to get some overspray with the silver.

looks ok and im jsut being really anal but nothing that a few decals wont go and hide hehe!
