Kyosho RudeBits DB2

When we posted this in March 2012, people laughed about the comment ' The future is here'
Now everyone, including manufacturers are trying to copy the proven platform of the revolutionary Kyosho DB1. David Burton certainly started something. Baring in mind that no other platform similar to the DB1 has won or TQed a National event like the DB has, one could say they still need to work at it....LOL

David Burton has raised the bar to an all new height with the new DB2.
Seen at the TORCH club this weekend, Dave Burton TQed an impressive field of talented drivers first time out with the car.

Watch this space I suppose.....due mid-September ish
Pre-orders via email for now at tony@rudebits.net

A few spy shots for your pleasure

LOL....its very good :)

Origineelreclamebord 12-08-2013 04:34 PM

So besides the RB6 front end, are there other updates/changes to the car? And why switch to the RB6 front end?

Note: This is out of curiosity, not a judgement on the design :)

marcel 12-08-2013 04:41 PM

teamc tm2:)

RudeTony 12-08-2013 04:42 PM

You will notice the motor is further back and on the other side of the car.
You will also notice Shorty Lipo
Also now room for big servo
A lot more subtle changes but all are improvements over the successful DB1

jamiekerr14 12-08-2013 04:58 PM

I have to say watching Dave B racing and Tony E *Testing*-He will get the little joke  run the DB2 on sunday at Torch, the 1st thing I could see that it has tons of front end. Watching them run all day sunday was impressive and the cars certainly looked the dogs b*llocks on the track!

It looks to be another great car, and I can see these selling like hot cakes!

RudeTony 12-08-2013 05:44 PM

LOL @Kerr

Does it only take a shorty lipo?

I only asks as I was of the understanding 10th scale buggies had to be able to take stick or saddle packs?

hazeandfizz 12-08-2013 06:10 PM

Car looked great on track at Torch, put me on the list please Tony.

James.

I think this is only a ROAR regulation for those racers across the pond...

Debut Meeting completed

Steve Brown won every round and TQed the meeting, he also won every leg of the A finals for the win.

I broke (silly mechanic) in the first round but then repeated what Steve did and TQed and Won....

Exciting days ahead .....

danmurphy 26-10-2013 02:04 PM

How is the front kickup achieved? Is the chassis shaped at the front?

tomtom 26-10-2013 04:07 PM

The carbon chassis should have the kick-up built in, not an easy task as most carbon suppliers don't offer such work.

Gayo 27-10-2013 10:08 AM

Are you getting one of those, tomtom? ;)

tomtom 27-10-2013 01:06 PM

Off course mate

Happy Bday btw !

Gayo 27-10-2013 08:50 PM

Same idea as the DB1. You will need yo buy the rear end of the 4WD and an RB6 front end.

Then it will be a very expensive car :woot:

martgifford 02-11-2013 03:14 PM

Out of interest. If I have a db1 could I buy an rb6 front end and the db2 chassis (which I assume is similar to a db1 with a slightly different front end screw alignment and cut) and have a db2. Just out if interest I ever wanted too?

Cancel I see the shorty lipo and motor change so I guess it would be a whole new kit to upgrade a db1 to db2.

Is it the old ZX-5 motor mount?

steel 16-11-2013 04:32 PM

Is there a list anywhere of what is needed apart from the conversion kit

paulj 18-11-2013 08:21 PM

I watched AndyP's DB2 run last night on carpet/skippy floor at NEAM and it looked very, very good indeed for a first run. He was on pole when I last looked but we headed off early as 8yr old son needed to be up for school :)
