X Factory On Prime Time TV in the U.S.

X FACTORY WILL BE FEATURED ON SHOWDOWN OF THE UNBEATABLES, National Geographic Channel's new show premiering Friday April 4th at 9 Eastern & Pacific. We think we will be on the fourth or fifth show.

We'll let you know more as soon as we can. Paul, Chazz, and the X - 6 Cubed will be featured for about 10 minutes as part of the program. This is not a paid infomercial. The filming was totally spectacular.

This pic is from National Geographic's web site about the new show, Showdown Of The Unbeatables. Zane, on the right, was our presenter. Although the pic of the two presenters was not taken at the site, I think the background is from the place where our Showdown took place.

Hope everybody watched the first episode last night. I guessed the rock buster would eat the safe up. Wrong! If I had something worth keeping, I'd want a Brown safe. And I was surprised the paintball gun couldn't find the stationary target, and Chief AJ won! Hoo-Ray for the Chief!

Last, I thought they put the cannon too close to the glass. I wonder what would have happened if it had been 50 or 100 yards away. After all, it shot the bottle 500 yards in the test. And what if they had built a concrete block wall and coated that? That Line-X is cool stuff.

Win or lose, the promotion is awesome.

We can now show you two pix from GRB Productions, the producer of Showdown. First is a pic of Paul's Cubed taken at The R/C Factory in Jeffersonville, Ohio where several of the stunts were performed.

Second one is from a road near Waterville, Ohio. GRB wanted a drag race with a real car, and they were about to go rent one when Family member Oldman Billy volunteered his Porsche! He tuned it up the night before, and they made us do it about a dozen times while they set up eight cameras differently each time to get great shots of all the action.

Billy gave it everything the Porsche would do -- even though he is one of the most loyal members of The Family, he didn't like the idea of his prize Porsche losing. Anybody want to guess who won?

Is this being shown in the UK?

YoungChazz 08-04-2014 03:23 AM

I believe the first episode, which ran Friday April 4th here in the U.S., is on line now.

It's reasonable to think all episodes will go on line in the days immediately following initial broadcast, and that will include our episode.

Unfortunately only available in the US to US cable subscribers. We might get it in a few years time!

That's it! Showdown Of The Unbeatables runs Friday night at 9 Eastern & Pacific, and we will be on the fifth show of the first season!

Each episode is re-broadcast several times, so about one million people will see for the first time what an R/C car can do as Paul puts his X – 6 Cubed through some incredible stunts. There were a total of seven different venues; only a few stunts are on an R/C race track. X Factory has previously released a photo of the Cubed lined up on a road about to drag race against a Porsche, and there will be a number of other breath-taking videos.

We also released a G.I.F. of a massive jump. The jump is not part of the show, but Paul did it several times practicing for an incredible stunt.

Here are some new pix taken at one of the venues:

On the left, Paul holds the X - 6 Cubed after a bad landing doing the G.I.F. practice jumps. He did it many times successfully, only broke the car once. For the actual stunt there were many “takes,” after all the practice he landed them all.

In the center photo, Paul and Chazz relax after successfully completing what we think will be the final, most spectacular stunt.

Perhaps most interesting is the right photo. One of the Hollywood cameramen (Byron) does close-up work with the Cubed. The director (Danny) hovers over his shoulder checking the image on the camera. Paul stands to the right with the transmitter. All the video on the show is the highest quality possible -- extremely close and detailed.

This will expose more people to the wonderful world of R/C than anything we've seen to date. Make plans for a party with all your friends to watch Friday night, May 2nd.

Showdown Opponent Released!

X Factory vs. West Coast Falconry! That's right, it's going to be Paul and the X - 6 Cubed vs. a raptor, a Harris hawk.

Paul's Cubed must drag a rabbit's fur bait behind the car on an off-road race course while evading the hawk at the same time. He can't go backwards, and he can't sit in one spot doing donuts to throw up dirt and smoke. Can Paul complete the required number of laps without the hawk catching him? Will the 60 MPH hawk grab the Cubed and carry it off?

In the five-minute set-up, watch the Cubed do some great tricks, many of which are not on an R/C track and have nothing to do with R/C racing. Huge jumps, pin-point driving, incredible agility, a drag race. You'll be amazed. This will probably be the best publicity for our sport ever to happen in the U.S.

Tune in this coming Friday, May 2, 9 PM Eastern & Pacific, Showdown Of The Unbeatables to find out!

YoungChazz 27-04-2014 11:24 PM

VideoCast 3.0 is up now. Paul and Chazz discuss the new set-up sheet for the Cubed, but mostly our longest Vid is about shooting Showdown, what it's like to work with a Hollywood film crew. We think you'll find it very interesting.

Another video is up now. This time Paul and Chazz give some details about the various locations and stunts for our set-up portion of the show. Paul talks a lot about filming in the skateboard park. Skateboard? Yes, X - 6 Cubed running with skateboarders in a skateboard park. Incredible footage!

Showdown Of The Unbeatables, National Geographic Channel, tomorrow night May 2nd, 9 PM Eastern & Pacific.

We're about 24 hours away, now, from Showdown Of The Unbeatables on National Geographic Channel at 9 PM Eastern & Pacific.

If you can't watch it live, make sure to set your DVR. Better yet, have a few friends over, R/C or not, and have a little party!

See you tomorrow!

YoungChazz 02-05-2014 01:45 PM

Just a reminder -- wanted to put this thread in bold again. Tonight's the night, 9PM Eastern & Pacific, National Geographic Channel, Showdown Of The Unbeatables.

You will be blown away.

YoungChazz 02-05-2014 09:16 PM

There is some confusion about the time for Showdown Of The Unbeatables. If you go to the National Geographic Channel's home page http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/
on the right where it has "On TV Tonight" Showdown is at 9 PM.

However, if you then go the the Showdown page, it shows 10 PM.

I believe the first four episodes were all at 9.

We are part of the episode titled, "Drill Vs. Super Metal," which is scheduled to air tonight. There are three showdowns per episode, and I think we will be the third one.

THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED

We want to thank everyone who helped make Showdown a success:

Thanks to Curt and The Ohio R/C Factory where we did the track shots and the two jumps. Curt tore up the entire indoor track and put in the take-off and landing ramps for the truck jump -- heck, it was his truck! He also let us build the ramp for the big jump and the elevated landing was the top of his ex-U-Haul moving van. We couldn't have done it without you, Curt!

Thanks to Modern Skateboard Park in Royal Oak, Mich and to all the skaters who helped out.

Thanks to Oldman Billy who went with us to all the Ohio & Mich venues and was simply invaluable. Billy helped pound nails, you see Curt driving Billy's Cubed in some of the track shots, Paul never had to charge or change a battery because Billy took care of all that stuff allowing Paul and I to focus on working with the camera crew. They used the motorcycle drag race, but Billy worked tirelessly with his Porsche to do a great drag race sequence which we think was much better than the motorcycle one.

And or course thanks to all Paul's sponsors, many of whom provided new equipment specially for the show so the car would look and perform at its best. Viper, ProTek, J Concepts, B-Fast, M.I.P., Lunsford, StickIt 1 Graphics, A Main Bodies.

HOPE YOU LIKED IT.

Thanks to all who watched. Hope you liked it. Especially, we hope many new people are attracted to this great sport/hobby.

In the coming days we will be putting up lots of stuff from the show on our web site and FB page. For sure we'll have our portion of the show itself so you can see it any time, and we'll include vids & pix from different angles of some of the stunts.

They cut out almost all of the big jump, showed only a portion of the landing, so we'll give you all of that. Paul had a lot of trouble landing it, and you'll appreciate why. We also have footage of the pick-up jump from a different angle and you'll like that too. Lots of footage from the race track, and possibly some other stuff too.

Unfortunately we don't have anything from the skateboard park -- it turns out we had more fun there than anyplace else. Hope you liked that segment.
