Rc10 b5m understeer issues
 

Hi all
Looking for some advice. After taking advice of softening the shock oil to 25w. The car handles a lot better. I'm looking to sharpen up the steering and make it turn quicker and be more responsive. Any suggestions would be great. Setup is straight from the manual except 25w Shock oil in the rear (32.5 in front )

my b5m is set up 32.5 front 27.5 rear, yellow front, grey rear springs, front shock upper middle hole, outter at the bottom, rear is middle hole at the top and inner at the bottom, short link on the rear made the biggest difference for me, middle hole on the rear hub and outer hole on the tower 2mm under the ballstud, turns on a dime low speed

Lots of things you can do to sharpen the steering up.....

Do you want more initial, or more mid/exit?

Ball or gear diff?

Weight at the front will help a bit and a lighter oil in the diff, if you are running a gear diff.

It's on mid corner and exit I would like to sharpen up.
It's on full lock and radio gear is set to give 50% power to motor

I have just used the black grease

There are plenty of things you can do you need to give a better description about what it's doing when it's doing it what type of surface track size what electrics your running motor settings pretty much every thing other wise advices is just hear say

However not sure why softening the rear oil will help your issue as you described

I would try running some 3k diff oil.

Use black grease to help seal the diff, not to fill it. That won't be helping you at all dude.

Stu is right. Without the full set up, track and electrics info....everything is just stabbing in the dark.

Except the black grease bit.....change that. :thumbsup:

I am new in the sport so apologise for the lack of details.
I am running all absima electrics ( servo, esc, lipo and 10.5 turn motor).
The motor is turned down to 60% on radio gear which is also absima.
The track is the mendip rc off road track. Bumpy with some steep hills etc track is AstroTurf.
The rear shock oil was softened as the car was unable to settle quickly enough and getting the car out of shape this does seem to have helped but again I'm new so could be wrong.
The problem is the car just seems to want to take wide turns. Even with full lock and it seems the same if I'm coasting or if I'm on power. Obviously it could be I'm going to fast into corners but watching the other drivers they seem to go a lot faster and the cars seem more responsive even with more speed. The tyres are mini spike at rear and ballistic buggy at front can't remember the name . I also have mini spike in front in wet. I have other tyres for back but has always been wet or damp when I've run ( I started racing in november).
The springs are standard issue from box and have 30 weight in front. 25 in back.
All advice is helpful. Even if it is to just practise more and learn to drive it. Just want a good platform to start from
