AE RC18 | TEK18X2SE - 2wd competition 1/18 car

As we all know, Fluppen, runs a micro XXX 2wd (custommade chassi(from Slider) and Mini-T front...i have recent made my own 2wd 1:10th buggy borowed some stuff from my BJ4WE car and my plan, or i will make a 1/18 2wd comp car like the bigger brother..as i run 1/10th 4wd buggy and 1/18 buggy + 2wd 1/10th it would be nice to have a 2wd 1/18 to..

Will use messurements from the TEK18X to get rear tranny, slipper in place...and a Mini-T front...

App like this is whats it gonna look when it is done..

looks good

but one thing bothers me (and its not your fault) the Mini-T front end has some terrible camber link angles on it, it always used to bug me to death when I had mine.

I ended up mounting the inner camber link on the front 'face' of the camber mount holes and making it much much lower.

ideally the outer camber link would be closer to the wheel and much higher

Chris, any chanse to have a photo or a "drawing" on how to do it, im not sure if i do follow.. :/

Chris Doughty 06-01-2009 01:11 PM

on this picture
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...E/DSC_0404.jpg

imagine the inner front camber link was turned 90 degree's so that the ball bit faced forwards in the same direction as the outer one. its mounted into the same 'ears' that its mounted in now, but the front face

Northy 06-01-2009 01:19 PM

Could you not drill into the top of the caster block closer to the wheel? :eh?:

G

Chris Doughty 06-01-2009 02:40 PM

you would have to grind off some of the caster block to get clearance.

but I think you might have issues with the camber links clearing the shocks as the ball would be mounted further 'back'

Northy 06-01-2009 02:54 PM

Fair enough
