Hy vintage Yokomo yz-10 fans,

I want to show you, what more likely found the way to me, than i was looking after, and hope to find some help, when i do have some questions.

Here is the first pic...:o

The previus owner was using it for bashing, and i could'nt see that anymore, so i released it from it's pain!:woot:

Car looks in very good shap, exapt, most of the screws are worn, so i have to be carefull, to destroy nothing else, when start to disasamble it.
Car comes loaded with full vintage electrics, the original manual and an original tuning and sparparts catalog, with all the spare parts numbers in it, but no extra parts at all!
It is missing the body and undertray, so here is my first question, where is a good place to find parts for the yz-10?

Sorry for some bad english and sorry too, for many posts, as i allways can upload one pic per post, with my ipad!

...here is the front of the parts cataloge, i did scan all pages, so if someone is interrested in, i can e-mail it, but it is quit a big file, so may i have to down size it a little!?

I'm sure the yz10 experts will be along shortly to give you some help

Looks like you've got a nice condition 94 there buddy great find. We use to run large scale car body's BITD here I ran my 870C with a wide arched MK4 escort body, it was the first incarnation of the TC lol.
Screws can be other orded in the size and quantity needed or if you search YZ10 on eBay you'll see a place in Germany I think it is offering complete screw kits for them.
Body and under tray can also be found on eBay from either Penguin or TBG and you'll be wanting the one with the small scoop on the left hand side of the car

micholix 24-04-2016 04:48 AM

Peakey, thanks for the infos for the body and undertray and for the screws!

I took apart the hole car yesterday and had quit some trubles to get those worn phillips screws out, especially those, witch was running into the metal and magnesium parts, but luckily, got them all out!:woot: I will go a bit off of originality, as i will use mostly hex screws on it(i do have them here).

The hole car looks like, it was not driven very much, drivetrain and diffs looks like new, exapt the pully for the front belt cached a stone and so one tooth is broken, the front inner hinge pins are bent, and those little ball ends are hard and look like they brake every second, everything els is in realy good shape...

So what i have to look after is,
-Body and undertray
-some decals
-weels and tires
-front inner hinge pins
-spur/main gear set
-those little ball ends

... Than it should be finished!:wub

Hi Mate,

When I posted my YZ10 this guy Stuntmonk1 contacted me and said he had some hing pins. I got a couple off him, he may have some more. Maybe worth a try.

Jamie

Nice, not much to do at all.shocks could do with a rebuild but would advise changing the seals. They are good shocks plus those springs work well on most surfaces.

micholix 24-04-2016 04:30 PM

Thanks Walshy40,

Yes, did rebuilt allready the front shocks and put some nice white rdrp o-rings in it and they run buttery smoth again, like those teflon pistons too!:)
May have to go lower on shock oil, as i put some 30wt in it, these was the lowest i had, but ordered a set of losi shock oils, from 20-45 wt, what is a good starting point oil wise?

Cleaned up most of the parts and start to rebuilt the car allready, and, i found a shop in germany, which still stocks some parts for the yz-10, but no body shell and plastic parts, mostly parts for the drive train, and shock rebuilt sets!:woot:

What i'm also looking for too, are some of those golden aloy screws, my lhs does have a screw set for the ae b4/sc10, which include four of these screws, but i have to see, how many i do need!?

I'm realy loving this car already, i do like the simplyness of those older cars compared to all of the modern cars!:wub

I think i had either 35 front, 30 rear but did change after practice and may have gone to 40 front 30 rear or 40 front 35 rear. I did use a 3mm spacer on rear shock springs and more on front, ujs were almost level on front and rear. This is with Sanyo scrc cells so due to lipos may need lighter.

Body is available on ebay and undertray as a repro but really good. Also someone on oople now makes those wings in any colour for a good price.

rebuilding process!

Hi guys,

Started the rebuilt yesterday!
I do have good connections to a local hardware store and he collected me two sets of phillips scews and it did cost me only € 4 and 43 Cents for both sets!
I'm wayting for some spares for the drivetrain to arrive and my lhs ordered me a set of those golden ae 8-32 screws, so they should arrive next week?

I'm still looking for a body and under tray, a decal sheet and a front bumper, but that's it...

here are a couple of pics, of the building process so far:

Could someone please explane me, why they had a team associated stickes on the yokomo?
Was that, because they used some ae parts, or did they have a kind of cooperation with ae?

Most of the AE drivers use to run yokes as there 4wd cars Cus AE didn't have one, plus they were the US distributors for Yokomo bitd
