Tlr uk team

Do tlr have any uk team drivers or a uk team any more ?. Looking at buying a 22 5.0 but was unsure how much uk team support there would be.

millser 07-12-2018 12:05 PM

There will be a team next year, they are in the process of appointing a new team manager.

Have they gone x-ray and releasing a car every year now?

tyreman 07-12-2018 09:32 PM

Doubt it as the 22 4.0 has been out for 2 years now. More inline with AE releases.

A bit less but ok. Seems daft having a tlr team when hardly anyone stocks their stuff

NeilRalph77 07-12-2018 10:51 PM

That's business unfortunately Darren, if the brands are popular shops will stock it, any brand in any area of life will have less retail outlets if they fall from favour, but how do brands become popular if no one advertises them, so a team though few they may be still gets the product out there, and if it starts winning the numbers will rise because people want what wins, and if people ask shops enough they then stock it. Supply and demand.

Darren Boyle 07-12-2018 11:43 PM

We have stocked TLR throughout and carry more stock than the current distributor has, however it is no secret that the support and current demand for TLR cars and parts has dropped off hugely.

daz75 08-12-2018 12:35 AM

But isn't part of the problem the way horizon run it. Don't they only supply certain shops others can only sell at retail price meaning that make no profit

Darren Boyle 08-12-2018 02:38 AM

Nope, that ended a long time ago now, the distribution through tbe UK is now handled through Logic RC who are Horizons appointed agent. They will happily supply any UK shop but the demand is not there for them (other shops) to stock it...

I'll be honest, if we dont see a large turnaround in demand for TLR cars and products we too will consider stocking it no more, since the current level of sales do not justify the huge amounts we have invested in stock. We are one of not very many shops chosing to stock TLR products right now and close to becoming another non stockist.

After reading Darren Boyle’s comments I think buying the new tlr buggy would be not such a good idea. I don’t want a car I may struggle to get parts for.

Fair enough but if I was running a shop and they'd done that in the first place I probably wouldn't bother with them in the future

Darren Boyle 08-12-2018 12:32 PM

It was Horizon Hobby in Germany that did it to the shops, not Logic RC...

The brand will only prosper again with support from all sides.....
The manufacturer/distributor to back the product, have good stock, support the development and look after the dealers.
The shops to carry stock of the cars and spares.
Lastly the racers to put faith in the products and buy them.
