My 205 gti turbo

Hi Guys, I know quite a few petrol heads on here! Iv just put some info of my car/build on Piston heads website, have a look if you want?

http://www.pistonheads.com/xforums/t...%20GTI%20Turbo.

I'll have to bring it to a regional if I can get my gear in it! its a right little beast, Rich Baker can confirm this!!

if you do get it to a regional m8 you are taking me out for a quick spin inbetween rounds. that looks the nuts. nice and subbtle rather than the usual garyboy style.

Cool car, my old man had one ages back. Le Mans was great to and the old Aston Martin route is the one I recommend. I went as a passenger in a 200mph Jag and we hit that on several occassions. Great fun, especially when the French police just shook their heads and turned around.

Thanks for the kind words about the mighty pug! Yes sure I'll take you for a blast Niggs! I'll just have to pack light when I go racing!

You cant beat the 205 Gti, buy one before it's too late!!

Steve Brooke will be getting all those ideas he had for his come flooding back now!

Unfortunatley, much as I'd like to time, money & SWMBO will prevent that!

Can very much appreciate Mark's hard work one on this one, loved mine when it was in better fettle and it used to upset quite a few people in it's time!
Mine started as a 1.6 that had a fettled 1.9 mated to the original gearbox, which makes them out accelerate a standard 1.9! Better breathing helped too, both on the intake side with a cone filter, straighter run in and fine tuning of the air meter and on the outlet with a full stainless steel Magnex exhaust system. Mine was set-up using prototype Jamex suspension kit, strut brace and a thicker rear torsion bar. Brakes were beefed up using Wilwood discs, bit rusty now though!
I also went for the stealth look with 1.9 wheels that I had colour coded to the Graphite Grey non-sunroof (marginally stiffer!) bodyshell and a very clean half leather interior and 1.9 steering wheel.
She's still only got 63k on the clock and the engines done less than that, not bad for a 1986 version:thumbsup:.
All my work was done by a long term entusiast and founding member of a couple of the owners clubs and I'm sure there's other stuff that I've forgotten about!

And if all of this sounds like an advert then you can take it as such, I'm afraid she's got to go, so I'd be willing to talk to anybody that may be interested in this project as a whole or any of the parts that are on the car, yes, painful as it maybe I would break her:thumbdown:. I've also got a brand new set of 18" wheels and tyres that I never got around to fitting availble as part of the package or separately.
She needs some tender loving care by an enthusiast that's got more time than I have presently to get her back to her former self but it wouldn't take much and when you do well just so much fun and she would make an awesome track day car too or even a hot hatch racer!

PM me an email address if your interested in pictures or if you'd like a viewing.

Is that what it was, the car that he went in?

They are mega rare, i doubt it very much that you would take that to 200 mph, it would fall apart lol, plus all the stone chips would warrant a complete respray to keep it in concourse condition and keep the value up.
