Aluminium TC chassis in the UK

Hi,

I'm curious as to whether people are using the new aluminium chassis that are now available for many of the touring cars out there. From what I understand they're intended for high traction carpet tracks but is anyone using these on low to medium grip carpet that are more commonly found in the UK?

If so what are the benefits? What compromises to the setup have you made? and what is the durability like?

If anyone has any info on these I'd be grateful if you could let me know!

Thanks

Tom

Basically, Aluminium chassis can work but they really need a lot of good grip. most of our tracks are quite temporary, especially when just setting up for a club day so our grip in the UK is low to medium grip (Mostly) so the standard chassis, or even a softer one would probably be better.

when i raced tc, my old mr4tc custom plastic chassis yoke had fantastic grip on the tracks we have over here as mentioned. control tyres were those patterened t27??? at most clubs.... while ago now :)

Mr4TC was a great car, do you have a pic of the custom chassis you made?

On the Xray espcially T4-15 the Alu chassis can be used on grip levels.
Ran mine for the first time on low/med grip carpet and the car was more consistent .

The '15 alu chassis is narrower and .2mm thinner, it also weighs around 40g more than the graphite chassis, according to Alex Haberg it lowers cog and helps stop grip rolling.

A friend also ran an Alloy chassis on his t4 - 14 at the same meeting and he also said he preferred it.

I was running 13.5 blinky he was running mod

I have a hot tamale alloy chassis on one of my T4's.We run on low/mid grip carpet with sorex 28's or 24's. I have found little difference if i'm honest and at first the car with the stock chassis looked and felt quicker than the one with the alloy (ran both T4's one after the other). :D
