X20 timing inserts

Is it possible to set the timing on x20 to 0 deg ?

It was possible to do so on the x12's

And if so what insert is needed as the factory fitted one is 27.5deg timing.

The ones that come with an X20 are all higher timing than the standard one fitted. I'd just make sure your geared right and leave the motor timing well alone.

As i know with the 4 dot timing insert (-10°) the lrp X12 Motors still have 30° timing.
This applies for the stock spec Motors. For Modified i don't know

The supplied inserts go from 27.5 to 37.5 deg, but like I said I would leave them alone.

Yes i have decided to leave it as the standard 27.5 kit one.

Thanks

How does turning the insert upside down affect the timing?

See here..

Does this reduce the timing?

Chalkie 07-11-2013 12:03 AM

If you use the inserts upside down it would increase the timing.

A 30deg insert upside down would give 45deg of timing, not recommended....

You can calm it down if your running a flow/comet speed controller

Unlike you James, 700deg is what you usually run isn't it

No you can't, the default Blinky setting is as soft as it gets, after that every setting makes it faster/more aggressive. Hence the speedo defaults back to the blinky boost0 mode when overheating.

Lol, I run perhaps 10deg of timing, I like to have plenty in reserve so I can turn things up if needed :D

You should see what its like when you add the extra special dualsky e-booster, its like its changing up a gear when it kicks in.

Basically it's just another boost or turbo. But surges a lot more power than it really should:D (even on low settings) Good for overtaking at the end of the straight when it kicks in. A 6.5 LRP provides enough for me at the end of the straight but could be a nice idea to run on a 7.5 maybe for the straight line speed. You do need some brakes though!:woot: And can overheat the motor a bit much as it has a much greater affect than timing in my opinion.

At the end of the day just leave it all standard
Tom cockerill won the winter series round two with no timing using a nosram setup

Why only at the end of the day, so we can use timing and boost at the start and the middle of the day.
