2018 xb2 diffs out on corner exit
 
Really struggling with this Inner wheel is spinning like mad on corner exit .

Cars kit setting apart from 2 dot springs all round . Metal gears in diff

Cars is raced on Mb raceway carpet so high grip ! It goes well but after that bit more :) .

I have tried anti squat reduced and more tow in made it worse if you ask me .

Any ideas ?

Is it diffing out or is the front suspension collapsing?. If it is diffing out,what oil is in it?. I used to run 10,000wt on high grip carpet.

Hi also have the same problem as the car comes past me on a fast corner it sounds like it’s spinning one of the rear wheels would thicker oil stop this. 500f 450r 5,000 diff 1 dot springs all round car is really good but noticed it last time I raced which I wonder if it’s the same as the guy who started chat

I will post a setup sheet !

but it’s stock setup with 2 dot springs . 7.5 k diff oil .

That’s about it really .

Apart from a brass front end std kick up .

1.5 deg camber all round .

If it's MB, I would suggest that the kit setup isn't ideal (have a look on petitRC for one of the latest EOS team setups), but as a starting point 2dot front springs without a front arb, chances are it's collapsing the front unloading the inner rear.
7k is thick enough even with 2 sat gears in the diff...
What's your ride height btw?

Slight thread hijack.....how do you measure the ride height? Do you just sit the buggy down, compress it a few times and let it settle or do you drop it from a foot? I have tried both but looking at EOS photos some of them are almost touching the ground in corners despite running say 16-17mm height so not sure how to measure it right

So you're right in thinking more anti squat made it worse on exit. Perhaps more weight on the nose so it carries through the corner a little more? Are your springs too soft/oils too light which is causing the corners of the car to collapse? Try standing your shocks out on the towers, this should firm it up/give it more stability.

Doubt many run on eos at 17mm. My ride height depending on features tends to be 14/15mm and seen plenty top national driver's cars at quite a bit lower.
But you've got it right, drop it on the board from about a foot and that's your resting ride height.

Last time I ran at mb I had 700wt front 600wt rear oils with 3dot front 2 dot rear springs. 7.5k in diff. Rear roll bar with 1.2mm bar helps massively to stop the back leg from kicking out. 14mm all round ride height. Hope this helps.

Had exactly the same problem with the XB2 at MB - I really think it's a trait of the car design. I tried everything to get close to where I wanted it - but never quite managed to get the car on the same pace as the YZ2 - and I put that down to the XB2 loosing drive due to this problem.

Try what has been suggested - I ran heavier oils in shocks and heavy springs on the front etc - tired all manner of setups - but couldn't remove the issue entirely....

Would a shorter rear camber link help? May stop the inside rear wheel lifting up coming out of a corner.

If all else fails, a ball diff usually sorts this sort of issue.

The 18 ball diff isn't quite available yet, so currently can only get a xh diff to fit plus 3mm dogbones. Not cheap and not convinced the x-ray ball diff will last at the level of grip of MB.

I'm pretty happy with my car at MB (also a 18).
Try 3 dot spring or front arb (1.2mm) with your 2 dot & 8k diff oil with 2 steel gear diff. I don't suffer from diff out issues on reasonable rear tyres...

Do you drive wheel or sticks? If wheel might me able to have a go with mine next time at I'm at MB and see what you think. My setup has a few differences from the typical "team" eos setup, although based on it. Ultimately driving style is rhe biggest factor on how a car needs to be setup.

I did a few things people said and yes it’s better BUT not fixed issue totally .
The harder you push the worse it gets .

Exactly the supports there , I’m loving my xb2 on eos and all other surfaces tbh , but on they’re reply on fb they said they will help anyone that requires help .

Gaz, sure you'll want to get the car setup sorted, but it wasn't your driving, the car was almost undrive-able on the EOS carpet at MB. There is something fundamentally wrong. The high outer rear hub ball studs hitting the wheels wont have helped, but it wasn't all that. there is something critically wrong, perhaps with roll centres and weight transfer.

Yes I gave in .

Even with weeks upon weeks and a lot of X-ray driver advice it would not stop diffing out :(

Tried almost everything including . New towers . Shocks . Many a diff oil change .

Bought a second hand yz-2 ca - setup with same diff oil same suspension oil.

Did my fastest laps straight away :)
Now I not a xray hater I have both xb4 and t4 both 18 specs and these are brilliant and not going anywhere soon .
