Cheers Matt , was wondering which weights were most useful, I always use alloy servo horns anyway , is the brass front bulkhead necessary too ?

I had a brass bulk head but not sure if it was needed. I used it as a tuning tool. I also used the low profile batts with a brass weight under them.

Good to see you're making a return:thumbsup:

If you're planning on running in winter (or when the Astro is wet/slippery) you might need a Ball Diff and maybe some kind of rear weight or low grip tuning parts.

You might have a shock when you feel how little forward traction the modern 2wds have. Amazing in the dry, hopeless in the wet (or could just be me)

Ha Ha cheers Ben !

Don’t think I’ll be ready to race till the spring at least , I’ll bear it in mind though regarding the traction issues in the wet

I was planning on getting a Reedy Sonic 8.0t motor , do you think that will be ok or over/under powered ?

Cheers mate hopefully see you down there soon

I reckon about right. I run a 8.5T in my B6 and it's spot on.

Random money saving tip ...

Interestingly the associated alloy cranks are identical for left and right so bought one set and upgraded only the left hand crank on 2 cars (only left hand crank is subject to any flex forces).

B6.1 is indeed a right handful in the wet/damp. Ideally you need one of the more rearward gear boxes either the "layback" or "standup" as per the B6d as it moves both motor and battery more rearward. Personally I cant tell the difference between ball and gear diffs but YMMV.

Thanks for the info

I will however only be ready to race in the spring/ summer so hopefully won’t have any issues straight off with wet conditions
