Everyone seemed to enjoy the fast layout of the track last night...
Well done andy.

Ta Fella's!

Funny, it's the first time I've tried drawing it before I get there...somehow sketching it up on paper is far easier (for me anyway) than standing in an empty room with a pile of ramps, guttering and hose!

I drew a couple up for the other night, got another 1 ready to go for friday already...unless I can come up with something else before then.

Might try and get a section on the website for track layouts once we've got a few goodun's in the bag...most def got to keep the fast flowing tracks coming...it's tough without all our track building guru's of old around helping out, but we'll get there

Ace night on Friday I thought, racing was great, although I had a bit of a crap night racing wise myself, must have used up all my concentration building the track , and finished nice and early, Pete even rolled a carpet up...now that's progress :p:D

peetbee 12-10-2009 08:43 AM

Ouch! :(
I can roll carpet up, just not very quickly - bit like my driving!

Ace fast track Andy, it means I really must get round to rebuilding my cars and setting them up:woot:

blue_pinky 12-10-2009 09:15 AM

hehe..sorry Pete! You did a sterling job on the carpet rolling...anyone who helps on that job is a hero in my eyes...you know that ;)

And what is this rebuilding you speak of...not sure what that is...I've hear a few people say it now...mine just go in and out of my pitbox week after week...they only get rebuilt if something breaks...hmm maybe I should work on that!

cjm_2008 12-10-2009 09:47 AM

twas a cool layout - I particularly liked the sweeping left at the end of the main straight. the kinked straight underneath the rostrum was entertaining too :)

could more people run their SC10s next week please? lol! and maybe the crossover could make a welcome return?

Well, using your X6 as an example, you've had to rebuild that twice this year haven't you? And you're not doing too badly with the B44!!
My car's were built at the start of the outdoors season and haven't been apart since:woot:

If I hadn't been there he wouldn't have had to do that!!! lol :p oops

blue_pinky 12-10-2009 02:02 PM

Pete, My B44 has literally only had one corner worked on since I got it (Dave did have a small part to play in that!)...and even then it was really just a wishbone and shock top...not sure that counts as rebuilt...just running repair.

The X6 has admittedly had a little more attention...Talywain in the rain made sure of that, but I only rebuilt the gearbox after that outing.

I have repaired 2 broken chassis episodes on the X6 as well, but literally only the chassis got changed over on both occasions...funny though, I'm sure Dave was involved in one of those moments as well!!! ;):D

Oh and I've seen balders break his Tamiya on a few occasions now...it's all that metal...it's shiny, but it does a great job of breaking the plastic bits instead!

The other X6 chassis wasn't entirely my doing either...something to do with a B4 launching itself of a jump, landing head on into my car coming down the main straight...can I have my own heat to race in? Might be safer on my own :p:D!

peetbee 12-10-2009 02:42 PM

LOL, that's still more work than most of us have done!

Safer as you'd only be at risk of hitting yourself on the rostrum if we put a jump back in front of it! ;):woot:
