The best thing you can do is drop over to the club on a sunday. The guys there will give you all the advice you need. Bring your car too.
We are not at the naul anymore :( , but in grifeen valley park in Lucan, sunday mornings from about 10:30.
See the website for details.

It would be a good time to start as well, as there seems to be a lot of interest with new drivers appearing every week at the moment.
Bring your car and race it.

Totally agree.
The Dark Impact is a great car that my mate drove for quite a while and it was always great fun. Quite robust too which is always a plus for racing! :)

Once you have done a few races and know that you enjoy it, then you can upgrade the car if you want and just lift your Novak setup out of the D.I. and into whatever new car you opt for.

thats some good advise, thanks

thats ashame about naul. i work shift so early sundays wont always be doable

i quite enjoyed building the DI. nice little model. it wasnt long before i put the novak in it and switched to lipo. some difference that made

i bought a tt01 lambo especially for the novak, but i found that the tyres ballooned so much that the rubbed the shell and sent it spinning, so its back in the DI now
i just have a tamiya super stock motor in the lambo now with nicd

It dosent matter what time you come at as last Sunday there were 12 drivers in the clubman (10.5) class so it should just be fun.
You have to start somewhere so just charge your battery and turn up.(weather permitting).
