Hello

Hi

Just thought I'd introduce myself and see if I could ask you guys for advice.

I have been out of RC racing for many many years, my last racer being an RC10T
which I used to race at a local club near where I lived in South Africa.

I'm quite keen to get back into RC as I need a hobby that keeps my hands busy and gets me out of the house.

I was wondering what advice you guys may be able to offer, in terms of which model to go for and where is the best place to buy?

As I mentioned I used to race an old RC10T(by old I mean when Losi first released the XX) but I'm looking to go for 1/10 off-road buggies this time. not sure to go 2wd or 4wd I suppose it would depend on which I could race more.

So far I've looked at the new Losi 22 and the RC10B4.1 quite different in terms of prices and quite possibly class, but thats why I came here :-)

are Tamiya a viable race brand? in the past they were more plastic lumps that were just good fun, but didn't work all that well.

anything you guys can help with would be greatly appreciated

hi mate are you in the northeast of england?
if so we have a few clubs around the region.
teesside run saturday's seaham run of sunday 10.00 till 15.00 newcastle friday 19.00 till 22.30 longbenton atm run thursday's 18.00 till 21.30.
they all run off road.
most of the clubs have sections on here.
try to get along to one of the clubs, and have a chat with the members, and see what most people are running as it's easier to get help with setup's and spares.
you can also try phills models in north shields the guys there can help you with what ever you needcall them on 0191 272 8443
as for tamiya yeah they are verry competitive the 2wd trf201 and 4wd trf511 belt drive or trf502 shaft drive, but cars and spares have to come from hong kong japan or the usa google it and check them out.
hope this helps
