F345s - who is going?

So who is going from the south east? When you arriving, what cars you running, goals for the weekend etc?

Sounds like we have a decent size team going. Can we win the overall team trophy?

simoncook 14-09-2010 09:52 AM

Me and Tom are both going. We've got the day offon Friday, so we are aiming to be there around lunch time. - Put up our tent and the giant gazeebo!!

Running my CR2 and XX4 :) My aim is to be in one final above the final that I was in last year. - Shouldn't be too hard.

Can't decide what the best route up is. From J4 on M25, over the dartford crossing and then up the M1, or go the other direction on the M25 and then up the M40. - Any ideas, google says they are about the same length.

i'll be there with
B4 (prepared by Tom)
BMAX

My first time at silverstone - so i'm hoping to go back with my cars still in one piece:)

here's a good site for people travelling up - shows all the roadworks....

M40 looks clearer.

jim76 14-09-2010 11:58 AM

the M40 is a slightly better route i found as it is quite a cross country trek from the M1.
I should be there Friday evening. Who ever gets there first, can they stake out a claim to a corner of the field for the south east crew!

I haven't raced at silverstone since they've relaid all the track so it should be a good learning curve! A repeat of my placing at tiverton a few years back would be nice!

F3,4,5's Silverstone Traffic

I'd watch the traffic this week-end, it's the Renault World Series meeting (which is free to get in) and is apparently almost as big as F1

Best to try to get to the track the back way.

From the M1, A43, A5, come off at the McDonalds roundabout on the A43 at Towcester, go past Maccy D's and take the 1st left, the track is on the left at the Sports ground as you enter Silverstone.

Not sure about the south way sorry

I'll stake out our claim, with our giant gazeebo, then we can all camp round it or something.

tymill 14-09-2010 06:45 PM

I'll be heading up as soon as the pips go to get rid of my year 11 form after pm registration! THEORETICALLY can be on the road from Camden Town by 3:30 - so hoping to miss much of the London traffic....

mikeyscott 14-09-2010 06:57 PM

Keeping my fingers crossed for Sunday

jim76 14-09-2010 07:04 PM

you should be ok Mikey if you are in the top few reserves. there has always been a few that don't run for some reason. But if you aren't lucky then just soak up the banter of a big meeting, should be a good laugh in the South East corner with Ross!!

David Poulter 14-09-2010 07:04 PM

Just to let you know that Mike, Grant and myself will be there all weekend if anyone needs any help with either the Cougar or the Cat

Lets hope for another South East victory
