It seems to have quite a few cheap parts compared to the SX1 hich had much more anodised aluminium? -

can anyone who has built one comment?

Yes that's true - most purple alloy parts were changed to plastic equivalents. I can't comment about durability, but everything went easily together so fit and finish is great as full alloy version.

The only place it really matters is with the new plastic pivot blocks. Mine lasted 1 lap when the front ones broke. They are cheap as chips though so I guess you make a decision on if you want to use them as a deliberate failing point or upgrade to the alloy blocks. I've just upgraded all of the corners on mine to the alloy pivot blocks and it will cost you around £75 to do. :o I knew they were plastic before I bought the car but I was surprised at how weak they were. They might last better with a stegger brace which could be a cheaper option. I am now running the stegger brace and alloy blocks so hopefully that weak point has been eliminated (probably just moved somewhere else ).

The plastic steering arms I think are better than the alloy ones as they give a little, not sure yet how they will hold up.
