Revised date for saundersfoot

Being as the only spare date in the summer clashes with another event the only date that seems free is 29th April, I know it's close but if everyone is happy we will go with that

Well done Ian that should be ok those booked in to the Ooople will be happy

i dont see any clashes so i think its the best date available

Teaboy 12-04-2012 07:43 AM

I was happy with the July date but i guess its the majority that count. If it is the 29th April i need to cancel my booking for this one.

How many rounds do you need to count as i may be stuck already ?

Cheers

Rich

You need 4 rounds to count Rich.

I can't do the 29/4 either :(

Was looking forward to it too, but I realise things happen to all the best plans too.

axeman 12-04-2012 08:22 AM

it's free in my calender:thumbsup:

+1 :)

I'm easy on this either way however...

As Pete says, the 29th July is the date that was put aside *by WRCA for this kind of situation.*

Whatever the decision is, the WRCA needs to make one quickly and deliver it to the drivers immediately.

Any indecisiveness is only going to confuse and annoy the drivers.*

People have family and work commitments after all. And the proposal of the 29th April could be interpreted as rather short notice. (let's face it- it is short notice). *Especially for those who either work weekends or travel with work and find balancing the racing calendar with those arrangements difficult enough.

Rather than have a full blown discussion where the world and his wife can interject, can a decision be made by the actual WRCA committee and then let us know what is happening?

Please don't think this is a rant- merely a request for some prompt clarity!*:)

cheers*

Round 2 at Saundersfoot is on the 29th of April - We appreciate the short notice on the changed of date to the week prior to that originally listed, Many factors where taken into account before the date was selected . Looking forward to you see you all there.

Does this mean that the 29th July is a void date now due to the clash with the oople?. What happens if another date is lost will it be 3 to count at the end of the year?

Cheers

I can't do 29th either. family commitments.

axeman 12-04-2012 02:49 PM

You simply just cannot clash with oOple. oOple is bigger than the nationals. It's at least an hour of everyday of my Life. in fact I'm wearing my oOple t-shirt now.

We wouldn't be able to have this moan without oOple
We wouldn't know whos going to caldi on friday without oOple
We couldn't sell our old cars without oOple

I LOVE oOple

Seems as many people have been put out by the change to April as it would of been in July.....

hywel 12-04-2012 03:34 PM

After a number of discussions with Ian Ford with regard to a revised date I felt it would be better to hold it on the april date rather than july in case we were forced to reschedule another round through bad weather or other causes so the july date is still the reserve date for the Wrca .

i realize this may not suit everyone but there are enough rounds available to obtain a license grade , and I,m trying to avoid the situation we had last season due to cancellations and ensure a smoth running championship

perhaps it should be noted that this situation has been brought about by an outside championship chosing to put an event on at a welsh club on the same date as our regional with no thought by both parties as to what it might cause So in order to appies everyone as usual its the Wrca that has to suffer
,
with regard to the OOPLE I know a number of you have booked it so now you dont have to worry about missing a round of the Wrca as it is now back to being the reserve date

I know I've said I can't make the 29/4 but as I'm planning on doing the remaining rounds it isn't a problem really for me, however, it is for some people as they have taken into account dropping other rounds to do other commitments outside of the RC world.

So, I've got a few suggestions (sensible I hope!):

1) To stop the short notice argument, could we fit it in between GNR and COBRA rounds? There's a month between them.

2) Could we convert the EOS finals @ Taly into a championship counting round as this date is in peoples diaries and then present the trophies at one of the winter events?

3) Could we get another club to hold the round on behalf of Saundersfoot on either the original date or the reserve date? (say GNR or COBRA hold two rounds instead of one and Saundersfoot only hold the one round that has been completed)

4) Could we get another club to swap days with Saundersfoot for either the original date or the reserve date? (straight swap between GNR or COBRA and Saundersfoot, not thinking about Caldi as I know the neighbours might have something to say!).

I know I'm nothing to do with the WRCA committee, but I'm just trying to put some ideas forward that will mean more people can compete at all rounds of the outdoor championship this year.

Nice ideals Ian but i think you summed it up in your opening line People have other commitments so that why we have chosen this course of action
