Can tyres be re-used after acetone?

Hi all ! after a recent change in cars i was wondereing if the hardly used tyres form my old spare rims could be removed with acetone and fitted to my new rims? I wasn't sure if the Acetone affected the rubber.. any ideas?

Thanks

We have re-used tires after boiling..only for practice and club nights though..they seemed fine

you can but theres no way of knowing what compund they will turn out to be as acetone alters them,

schuey green won't come out as they get ruined by acetone. Yellows aren't too bad, but you would probably only want them for practice.
Make sure you wash all the residue off them when you remove them, otherwise it can form a hard skin over the rubber as the glue residue resets

Do what I do and do roughly about eight dots of glue on the bead and rim on both sides of the tires, so when you have worn them out all you need do is pull them off, with a little help of a blade but they can be reused on something else if done correctly.

Cheers for the advice chaps, managed to get them off with a scalpel in the end without damaging them...thankfully i didn't use too much glue!
