Plough Raceway - Final Race of the Season

Hi Chaps,

Steve and I ahve been having a think about one last race round Plough before the Autum/Winter makes it all wet and soggy.

We have penciled in a date of 30th September.

So, if people are interested, let me know and if there is enough interest we will run a race

What do you all think??

Simon

Will have a word with the FORCC members on wendesday and drum up support, i am sure there will be some as my boys and girls are very good at supporting other clubs in the south east just a shame it,s a one way street most of the time, maybe we need to put on some meetings in a bigger hall with no motor limit and tyres that everybody has in there poccession this winter.

I've had a couple of questions recently, so here is a bit more info:-

Racing on the 30th is still on  and should be a good day. It will be quite a relaxed day so gates to the track won't be open until 8.30, with practice kicking off around 9.00. I'm planning on 4 qualifiers and 2 finals for all.

There will be 4wd and 2wd, I will also accommodate trucks if we get enough to make a heat.

We are planning on running a similar track to the last 4wd regional race, but with a couple of alterations that we want to try out.

I know its a bit wet right now, and the weather isn't looking the greatest, but Friday and Saturday are looking dry and our experience is that the ground drains really well.

We will be taking a call though on Thursday, but my feeling at the moment is that we will still run on Sunday.

Any more questions, let me know.

Location:-
Quote:

The Plough is a delightful, 16th-century country pub, which enjoys a quiet location set back from the main road, yet within easy reach of the main transport links. The quaint building is of a traditional, local style with very ornate, original window-panes. There is a well-maintained, private garden outside which is great for al fresco drinking and eating in the summer!!

Address: Leigh Road, Hildenborough, Nr. Tonbridge, Kent TN11 9AJ

Located directly on the B245, just a couple of miles northwest of the centre of Tonbridge

How to find the Plough pub: - If you are coming from Tonbridge, head for Hildenborough (B245). You will see Leigh & Penshurst signposted on the left hand side opposite the Flying Dutchman pub. Take this left turn (once on this road DO NOT take the first right signpost for Leigh), keep going straight ahead. Under railway bridge the road will narrow but keep going. The road can be a bit narrow and windy. There is a sharp bend to the right with another lane going straight signposted for the Powder Mills - follow the road to the right and shortly after this the Plough. The car park entrance is just before the pub.
If you're coming from north of Sevenoaks along A21, take exit off A21 for Sevenoaks and Hildenborough and head for Hildenborough (B245). You will eventually (about 2 or 3 miles down that road) see the Flying Dutchman on the left with a road off to the right signposted Leigh/Penshurst. NOTE: There is a road to the right before this one which is signposted for Leigh and Penshurst but please make sure you keep going until you see the Flying Dutchman.

A good point, is this a race meeting or stick time

if its just stick time, most of the forcc drivers are going to drive past our local track which we can use for free and have more track time.

simoncook 25-09-2012 10:04 AM

Ah yes, good point, something I missed there.

Just to make it clear, Steve has got quite excited recently and has got hold of some trophies for this race.

So there will be trouphies for the winners of the classes aswell as for the U16/U13 guys.

I don't know exactly how many he has got, but there will be something for each winner of the finals.
