Spraying translucent paint

If I spray translucent paint then unmask another bit on the shell and spray that it will bleed? So the colors will mix, I want to back the colors white so will I need to spray one color then back it then the next color and back that. IE back between coats

Please help I'm not very good at painting rc shells

If its a translucent paint then yes you have to back that with white before doing any other. Or the other colour will alter the transulcent shade. If it was a solid colour then you dont need to unless its a really dark colour your gunna use. Personnaly i`d back each bit with white as i go just to be sure.

Why are you using translucent paints ? It seems like you're making life hard for yourself ?

If you back them with pearl white or silver it will be more dramatic than just using straight white. Always work from darkest to lightest colours too.

As Ian has said, you'll definitely need to back the, pearl silver will give a good solid finish with a fair pop, AutoAir aluminium backers can be used to give a much more course, almost metal-flake effect and can look amazing in sunlight, or failing that go with a pearl or metalic version of the translucent colour. I love trans blue paint with pearl blue behind it, it gives such a deep, vibrant finish that looks amazing in sunlight... it's not as good as a true candy finish but it's a lot easier to spray!
