NEW model shop for Yorkshire..
Hi all.. There is a NEW model shop in the West Yorks area catering for EVERYTHING on or off road..
The shop is DEMON MODELS ltd on Dewsbury road Wakefield bang opposite the BMW dealership and with the asda car park right at the side of the shop, parking is NO problem.. The guys there have a wide ranging knowledge base and are also all-round good eggs! They also support a small RC club catering for 1/10 TC and buggy situated in the lounge of the Lupset WMC!! Check out the Demon models ltd facebook page for more info.. Give the shop a visit and support your RC community... |
That's strange, but good, news as Morley Models recently closed in Wakefield..! Any connection..?
|
Same location by the sound of it. I wish them luck and will check it out next time I'm passing
|
Strange choice of name - any connection to the one & only Demon Power Products?
|
no connection but why is the name strange ?

 ...and we are not having our emotions manipulated so we go into the shop sad and buy less!! :D According to this, those not on Facebook are more likely to be happy and spend more!! Support the people not on FB!!

Nick Adams' Demon has been going for many years (early 80's?) and although their correct title is Demon Power Products ask most people and they will call them Demon or Demon Models, so I would have thought having a name a bit different from an established trading shop would have been better. Just my view, some will agree some won't |

FWIW! |
Whilst your point has a certain level of validity, I offer the following.
There is a well known soft drink out there, red can? I'm sure you know the one I'm talking about... Well this soft drink shares its name with a powdered form of coal. They arent exactly confused a lot of the time. The reason for this is Coke is actually called Coca-Cola, and it says it on the bloody can. I wouldn't worry about people getting them confused. Once they meet Matt all confusion will have gone out of the window... He's... unique. |
Guys, considering Local Hobby Shops are dwindling faster than the talent is in my thumbs, you should all be glad someone has been stupid/brave enough to open a shop, careless of what it is called!!!
(marketing 101: cause controversy and we are ALL talking about them...) |

I have no issue with whatever name they choose but can understand how confusion could occur here. That said, my second attempt at finding them when I accidentally clicked on Demon models in Paris lead to a whole new world as I attempted to buy a body... As previously, I will call in and have a look a round and hope that their website is running soon (outside of FB) so I can take a look. |

On a more serious note.. atm FB is the only online access to information for the shop and the raceway.. Sorry... A website is currently in the pipe(fuel..?)line but as I am a website building internet thingmabob online whatever neanderthal, that's all I can tell you for now.. My first post gives information where the shop and the club can physically be found.. Hope this helps? BTW.. In the area that I live there are two hairdressing shops that are named "cut above" and "cut above the rest" they are totally unrelated apart from similar names and both providing similar services.. Should one of them have to change its name?? |
