Buggy identification
6 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I came upon this buggy and can't quite place it. The arms seem somewhat flimsy while the rest of the car is rather sturdy. The shell is very badly painted and I don't know if it is the original or made to fit. All electronics seem to be Graupner parts. I thought it was a Kyosho but if so I can't place the front and rear arms. Any help is appreciated. Cheers, Jakob |
Looks like a Schumacher xls or Procat with a varity of bits from other cars added.

I might be wrong but it looks like a TAG Geronimo. There is one in this Tamiya Club link
https://tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=14703 I think they may have been avaiable under another name but I cannot remember at the moment Regards Mark |
Its a PB Mini Mustang , pretty sure

Just remembered it was also sold as the Robbe Geronimo. If you search Google for that there are loads more on other sites.
I think, but might be wrong Tag was the brand in Italy (possibly the manufacturer as well) and it was rebranded Robbe in Germany and other parts of Europe Hope that helps Mark |
Yeah have seen it before looks funny like an PBCAT
schumacher drive train and pb suspension .... mvh iso |
I think the Geronimo was in a similar design to the MRC MRX/Santana range having Schumacher Cat style chassis and vertical metal gearbox plates together with PB Mustang/Maxima style wishbones. Interestingly the Geronimo also used the same red wheels as all the PB Off road cars-Mustang, Maxima and Ace.

Wish bones are similar but different to the PB, the Geronimo uses the same wishbones as the sg coyote with was also in partnership with tag on several projects
|
The SG Coyote is the other car I could not remember the name of!! That would also make sense as I think another car made by Tag called the Pro-10 is visually very similar to the SG Coyote

Hi all,
And thanks! Great to get it sorted. And impressive for so many to find the lineage right off the bat. From what I read in here I did a google and came upon a couple of guys in tamiyaclub who has or had one, and one of those seem to know his TAG cars. If interested you can read his take here - but I guess you have covered most of it in here already. Impressive indeed. https://tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=14703 At first I was a bit let down on it not being a more known model. Also, the body is clearly not the original. But it is a rather fun car to own and I have to try and get that crappy paint off it and see if I can't do better myself. And then to find a bumper... |
Yeh definitely not the right body it looks to be a cat 2000 shell. You should be able to get a new reproduction shell for it, pretty sure I’ve seen 1 recently online. I’ll have a hunt and post on here if I find the link for you

Hi, that's greatly appreciated. As is all the other help I had in here of course.
