All of the turnigy motors available at the UK warehouse seem to be sensored though and these escs' are sensorless. Are EZ-RUN worth considering?

and would this motor be safe to use or go with the 12t?

With Hobbyking you are basically buying direct from the manufacturer, so the prices are cheap. I would guess at my club there are more Turnigy lipo packs being used than all the other makes put together.

EZ-Run systems are made by Hobbywing, not Hobbyking, and Hobbywing are one of the worlds biggest brushless ESC manufacturers, making OEM ESCs for several other companies such as Speed Passion and Orion. There are very few racers at my club who are not using one of Hobbywings race ESCs and the cheaper EZ-Run systems are by far the most popular for non racers.

For beach running 30wt oil is a good start, and beach running won't 'destroy' a Lazer. I regularly beach bash many of my old cars and even if you don't rinse off the salt water you will just get some surface rust on steel parts. After many years beach running my Lazer still runs fine with slightly rusty driveshafts.
