Big E drills a small hole down through the top of the ball cup, just big enough to fit the driver for the ball stud.

This allows Ellis to remove the stud from the tower to change the number of washers without removing/reinstalling the ballcup. Ellis adjusts front roll center often, and doing this saves time and wear on the ballcup. Saving wear makes the cup less likely to pop off and also reduces slop.

Look at any top pro's car, and you'll find very little slop anywhere, yet perfect freedom of movement everyhere. That's why Ellis includes two DDP 025 shim kits with the Championship Edition. You can get it just about perfect with those little .010" shims.
