Because it'd be a second car - I would have zero no-claims bonus. I don't want to take my 9-10 years of ncb or however much it is off my smart car and pay more for that. Apparently I have to build up a new no-claims-discount if I want to have 2 cars - I didn't realise that.
LLoyds wouldn't touch a 'quick' car with zero no claims - even though I've already got a car with 9-10 years ncb with them! nuts. Never had an accident and have no points on my license. Oh and I'm 36 in a couple of weeks.

I've seen a couple of specialist insurers on an enthusiast website - I guessed being specialist they might be MORE expensive but I guess that's not the case really.
