For really cheap, you can't go wrong with a Flysky GT2B for bargain basement no frills.
Only has D/R for steering mind, no separate endpoints or subtrim. It does come with a rechargeable TX pack though if you pick the right auction.
Range is good, never had a glitch with them and response is good too, if not race levels - although saying that my lad uses his for racing!
TX and RX set are around £20 on ebay - last one I bought I managed to get for £16 brand new.
