Vinny, seriously, don't run before you can crawl. Choose something you can learn with, nothing complex, stick to it, and use it abuse it regular. Doing this will mean you will learn fast (with the wrenchs AND the thumbs) and be in a position to step up to something a bit more complex - but don't get me wrong, it'll be 2 years.
