To be honest if you're swapping 2WD to 2WD you might not even need to solder. Assuming both are mid motor, you can probably replicate the electronics layout in new car...just swap the gear over.

Take pinion off motor and undo the two motor mount screws
Pop balljoint off servo
Remove all electrics

I'd unplug it all, give everything a wipe down with brake cleaner or similar, check all wires/connectors.
Peel/clean old servo tape off

Build lovely new chassis : )

And just reinstall in new chassis.

Worst case you'll need new wires on speedo; if you do you want a hot iron so you can do it quickly and not cook ESC internals. Someone at your club will help if you've never soldered, it's really not as hard as it looks to do a nice clean job.
