If you are thinking of doing the regionals, and if I read it right you are from Lincoln, then you may be doing the Mid East Regionals. If so they are not low grip any more. They are mostly run on astro turf with West Bridgford being the only low grip, old school grass track.

The best advice I can give you, is yes look at the market, but then consider where you can get the spares trackside, if you break it. Maybe having the common car in the region you wish to drive may be helpful as you can get spares and advice easily.
