Just got in from work, but thought it best I quash the speculation before it gets out of hand (again!).

Rule 23.11 has been quoted but the often missed part of the 2012 BRCA Handbook is this:

'2.2 The Section Rules are designed to cover all requirements for the National Series and other Sanctioned events. Regional events sanctioned by the Section should run to the same format, but are allowed to use variations of the following rules (which are underlined individually) :-

15.10, 15.12, 15.14, 15.23, 15.29, 15.31, 15.32, 17.4, 17.5, 17.6.1, 18.2, 18.3, 19.1, 20.2, 23.8, 23.9, 23.11, 26.2.'

So rule 23.11 (which is underlined in the handbook!) is allowed to use a Regional variation and in the South East that variation is, as Andy has correctly pointed out, that there is NO tyre rule!

The variation at KMRCC the other year was a very specific set of circumstances that were agreed by ALL participating clubs due to the specialised nature of their surface and DOES NOT apply in these circumstances.
Also many thanks to Andy for his very useful guidance, he has won recently at this venue so it would be worth listening to his advice!

Hand-Out transponders require, I believe, a 6mm hole, would suggest that be in the bodyshell but can be in the wing but safer in the bodyshell! Suggest using a robust bodyclip. In the unlikely event that they fail, there are proceedures to cope with the eventualities of loss or failure.

Oh and another thing.....looks like it is highly unlikely that I will be in attendance this Sunday for a variety or reasons so you'd all best be on your best behaviour for Steve A and Simon C!!!

And so to bed!
