Control tyres is a good thing in my opinion especially for a feeder class, as it means you only need to make the car work with one tyre, everyone is in the same boat for grip/wear and additive timing. Making it about the driving rather than the wallet for who can buy the most expensive softest tyres. If you are giving up based purely on having a tyre choice removed it leads me to question how much you was actually enjoying it.
