When looking at a motor from the shaft end the shaft rotates anti-clockwise which in turn makes the spur rotate clockwise the belt has to rotate the same way as the spurgear and layshaft.
One thing i was thinking is if schuey were to mount the motor on the right of the car to make the motor rotate forwards and run an idler gear between the pinion and spur but i dont see what benefit this would give apart from having the spur and motor turning in the same direction
