I'm not sure what you mean by short rear end!

I have found that mounting the rear shocks on the outside hole on the shock tower can help with getting the car to turn in, along with perhaps increasing the anti squat.

You may also want to remove an outer row of spikes on the rear tires if you want to just want free things up a little.

It may be helpful to post the rest of your set-up, as it's possible that the front end isn't biting enough initially?!
