Hi Lee,
Depends on which Gen you have.
Gen1 short chassis, motor plate without gear cover just fins.
Gen2 Extended chassis, later came the motor plate with the gear cover mounting machined, different rear tower, later chassis were welded, but not on early First release chassis..
Gen3 (RB6) Machined chassis with brass weight kit (extra), Gearbox allowed the diff to be removed without stripping the slipper clutch, again early chassis was not welded, as per Gen2 for the rest.
I had,
Gen1 Kyosho RB5 SP2
Gen2 Kyosho RB5 SP2 WC
Gen2 Tamiya
Gen3 Tamiya
Beautiful buggies and top quality. If they were still made today I would still run one. Loved them !!
Value, Depends on condition and what hop-ups are fitted, rear hubs, alloy hangers etc......
As for Vintage. Not at the min matey.
Also what RB5 is the donor buggy as there were 3 RB5s. RB5, RB5 SP2, RB5 SP2 WC.
I maybe interested....
Hope that helps Lee....
