erosion from the fuel?

I presume it's a kipor repair agent that told you this?

If so, did he tell you how it could have been prevented, and if he did, will you share that information with us all so we can try to stop it happening on our generators?

Also, how old is the generator in question?

Sorry for all the questions, but as a lot of kipor gennies are used, there are, I am sure, a lot of interested people who would like to know!

would have thought the answer would be by not draining the unleaded fuel out over the winter, unleaded fuel goe's off and would errode the chamber/carb if left for long periods....

Default Geny

Spot on Chris, the genny is about 12 months old and like Chris said I left it over winter with no fuel however to be safe they do have a drain so need to read the manual and see what is suggested - because the fuel going off can knacker them up

we seem to be having conflicting replies here.

Carl said to let it run out of fuel before putting it away for the winter, and yet JamieB4 said he left his with no fuel in it, and still the problem happened.

I can only presume Jamieb4 poured the fuel out instead of letting the engine run until it ran out of fuel, hence leaving fuel in the chamber and that has caused the problem?

I stored mine over winter after running the engine until there was no fuel in it, and that seems fine - it started on first attempt after four or five "primer" pulls on the recoil with everything turned off.

thats what i have done for the last couple of years chris,
run it till its out of fuel
starts almost first time every time, stored for 3-4 months over winter in the shed outside
never had a problem yet
