Translation of the French Rules:

The goal is to let re-vive the atmosphere of the famous 24h of Le Touquet.
It will be a "hardcore" endurance: no tents to sleep, no bunkbeds, ... just tables and chairs.

Inscription fee will be € 35,00 (About £ 32,00) per pilot, which will include:
entrance in the competition, saturday-lunch, breakfast on sunday (from 7.00 till 9.00), dinner ..

Registration only via email: jpdadandson@gmail.com

Maximum of 14 Teams
Registration is only considered confirmed after the reception of the payment.

There will be a large screen displaying the live results during the competition.

This competition is for all Offroad 1/10th electro buggies (2WD and 4WD) and will be run as follows:

Timing:

March 20th 2010
10.00u opening of the race-hall
10.15 Technical control
10.45 opening of the track,
12.45 end of the free training

13.00u start qualifying round
13.30 end qualifyinground

14.00 START ENDURANCE

19.00 DINER: Cars go into a closed carpark.
20.00 START 2nd stint
22.30 dimming of the lights
07.00 end of the night: lights go up 100% again
15.00 END ENDURANCE, Technical check, drink given by the organisation.

Rules

• Minimum 5 pilots
• Open for all 1/10 electro 2WD en 4WD-buggies (Trucks not allowed).
• One only car per team. The chassis will be marked. Two spare chassis will be allowed and will be marked also.
It is not allowed to have a second complete car in the hall, nor disasembled in some major parts. Not complying with these rules will lead to an eviction of the race.
• Weight: 2WD: 1474 gr. 4WD: 1588 gr.
• Tires: 2WD rear Schumacher Mini-spike yellow (front tires free),
4WD: Fr & R Schumacher Mini-Pikes Yellow

• Batterys : Lipo hardcase obliged. A fast-swith-mod can be made as far as the use of the battery's stays safe.
Packs are however limited at 2S and 5500mAh
• Marchals: every team will provide a marshal, equipped with a fluorescent jacket (provided by BRCC) for their own car.
• The buggy will have to be provided with lighting so that it will remain visible and recognisable on the track when the lights get dimmed.
• Battery-switch will have to be done in a dedicated zone. Non complying with this rule will get you a +10 laps-penalty.
• The moment the Pace Car gets on the track, it can not be overtaken by any car. The cars will follow the Pacecar in the order they were running behind it. There is again, a + 10 laps penalty for braking this rule.
• De organisation keeps itself the right to, at any given moment, stop te race, put all cars in a closed parc and do a Technical Check. This procedure will not have an influence on the race. Racing will restart with the cars in the order they had at the moment of the stop.
Any team/car that seems to not comply to the rules will receive a +10 laps penalty + will be obliged to get the car back conform to the rules ... or will be excluded if a non-marked chassis was used.
• The pilot-switch must be done in a quite manner. There will be no chouting allowed. Communication between mechanics, teammembers and pilots must be done with as least as possible disturnbance for the other pilots.

only problem, ... the news about this event has been published on the french fora and it took me some time to translate all this in Dutch and English ...
and in the mean time, all places are taking.

The good news is that the organisers reserved a place for a Pred-team, which I am trying to get organised myself, .. and a Schumacher-team.

Any way, if you can get a team together, don't hesitate to mail ASAP to Jean-Paul Voumard ( dadandson[AT]gmail.com and maybe put me in CC (ludodg[AT]mail.com) as JP is not that fluent in English.

Here you go: LINK

but it has to be said that some of those teams, however having mentioned being interested, still have not registered officially (as is the case with the Schumacher-team.)

Yes they are indeed. We have 'prepared' to drug you with horse tranquilizers when it's your turn to drive, therefor preventing you from destroying the car.

Because of some teams cancelling their entry, we are now again able to go from 20 teams to lesser teams ... and it will be possible for us to organise this race on our "own" track-location (same as BWT and EIR 2010).

This is the plan of the track:

address will be:

Rue du chemin vert
Lodelinsart.

We also have a photo-gallery, explaining the route, picture by picture. You can find this here: CLICK
At the moment this is still only in French but I'll try to make some English translations.

till soon

message from Jean-Paul Voumard:
Quote:

in short:
lighting on the car will definitely be needed as the race will be held, during several hours, on a dark track.
So a fluoresecent-color-painted body won't do!

It promises to be a competition on a high level as most teams (or all?) seem to be prepping their car for this specific race: LED-lighting, fast-switch-systems for the batteries ...

Also, as JP celebrates his b-day that same weekend, he offers an apero on saturday-evening

good news I guess

Default Squad MiD44 - Tekin

Hi all,

there is the car we will use at the Charleroi 24h race. It is basically a B4 Team, fast and reliable, upgraded with some "team" touches :
- Losi shocks (the team loves'em)
- Lunsford ti ball studs and turnbuckles (not shown)
- Tamiya lightning system, huuuuge
- alloy and CF front
- last and not least, a RS Pro + 10.5 nicely provided by our sponsor, Team Tekin.

"The Brain" Olivier Langlet built the car, so we already have an unfair advantage He made all the custom parts seen on the car, as the blingy alloy ESC cooler. No fan to break

We will use a custom program, nicely provided by Randy from Tekin, along with a 10.5 fitted with a high torque rotor.

We chose to use a simple design for holding cells. No fancy system here, simple = reliable. Well we hope so

The Squad MiD44 - Tekin : Olivier Langlet, Antoine Rossetti, David Caradec, Matthieu Massonneau and Raphael Gayoso.

Thanks to Randy and Team Tekin for their great help
